The Parks Foundation of Franklin Park is stepping up for sustainability with a Sneaker Drive Fundraiser in partnership with GotSneakers. This initiative will help keep sneakers out of landfills while raising funds for the Parks Foundation of Franklin Park.
Each year, an estimated 600 million pairs of shoes end up in landfills, yet 100% of them can be recycled or reused. Through this sneaker drive, the community can take action to reduce waste and support local parks at the same time.
The Parks Foundation will be collecting gently worn, used, and new sneakers at the following locations and events:
📍 Earth Day Celebration – April 26
📍 Color Run, Walk & Roll – May 4
📍 Community Center – One week after the events
Community members are encouraged to donate 15-20 pairs of sneakers, but every single pair counts. By participating, residents will not only help the environment but also contribute to essential funding for parks and recreation programs.
